About
Ramon Medeiros is a backend engineer based in Stockholm. His work spans agentic AI platforms, payment systems serving European markets, distributed backends, and the cloud infrastructure underneath all of it.
He started out in virtualization and open-source systems tooling — KVM, qemu, libvirt — then moved through test automation and continuous integration, into cloud infrastructure, and on to product backends. He writes about practical engineering problems and solutions at ramonmedeiros.dev.
What I Work On
- Payments and financial systems — payment methods across European markets, Apple Pay and Google Pay on the backend, a subscription product, in-house ledgers, and A/B pricing and fraud analytics
- Distributed backends — monolith-to-microservices migrations, GraphQL and REST APIs, third-party integrations, and accounting automation
- Cloud infrastructure — Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes across AWS and Google Cloud, including backup tooling for CloudSQL and Bigtable
- Test engineering — moving suites from release gate into CI, cutting a Robot Framework suite from an hour to 25 minutes, and guidelines that eliminate flaky tests
